How We Choose
Every farm listed here has been chosen through direct research or personal experience. We have visited, followed, and in some cases volunteered with these organizations. Urban Roots is our first donation recipient - we know their work firsthand and believe in it completely. We are always looking for more farms that meet our standards, so this list will grow as we find and vet the right partners.
If you run a non-profit farm and would like to explore becoming an official partner, we would love to hear from you. Reach out at [email protected].
Farms We Believe In
Urban Roots
urbanrootsatx.orgUrban Roots grows a more just and joyful food future in Central Texas by partnering with youth, volunteers, and community organizations. They operate two farms in Austin (one in East Austin, one in South Austin), using regenerative agriculture to grow fresh produce and develop the next generation of food leaders.
What sets Urban Roots apart is that giving food away is baked into their model: 97% of everything they grow goes directly to food access efforts. And they pay youth to work on the farm, turning the act of growing food into an economic opportunity for young people from underserved communities.
